When you purchase equipment with the Mi‑T‑M name on it, you're getting quality equipment that has been designed and tested by a very dedicated group of people with one goal in mind, build it to perform and build it to last. We believe in craftsmanship and value. For over 40 years Mi‑T‑M has set the standard for delivering outstanding quality equipment. It goes into everything we build and everything we do. We've become known for performing under pressure whether it's supplying equipment to hurricane battered coasts or to the store down the street, we'll get it there when you need it. This is the philosophy of AJ Spiegel who built the first Mi‑T‑M pressure washer in 1971 and it inspires every individual at Mi‑T‑M today. But it is also more than that. It's an attitude our equipment is dependable as so are we; we'll do whatever it takes. We do it because our products are that good. We do it because we believe in what we do.
In 1971, AJ Spiegel built his first pressure washer which was a self-contained, gas powered unit producing 1000 psi. Because of its cleaning ability, Spiegel coined the phrase "Mighty" which he abbreviated to "Mi-T". Incorporating the Roman numeral "M" for the 1000 psi completes the corporate name "Mi‑T‑M"
Mi‑T‑M builds safe reliable products. In the United States, UL, CSA International and ETL are accredited by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). Generally speaking, all OSHA accredited laboratories conduct their tests against the same set of U.S. standards and codes regardless of who authors or publishes them. Having undergone detailed scrutiny of our technical competence, integrity and certification testing facility, Mi‑T‑M is authorized by CSA to perform much of the product certification work in house with NRTL audits to guarantee creditability. The mark of CSA, ETL, or UL on Mi‑T‑M products is an added assurance of safety.

The Mi‑T‑M Corporation has one of the best warranties in the industry. We stand behind everything we build. That's why it is important for us to select component suppliers that are as dedicated and innovative as we are. This means their warranty program must meet our standards. There have been times when we required engineering modifications to components, such as the pumps we install in our equipment, to improve warranties from suppliers.
For example, the Mi‑T‑M Pump Exchange Program provides pump replacement on our air compressors for the warranty period of two years from the date of purchase. It covers all pump problems with the exception of abuse or lack of basic maintenance. No other manufacturer offers this warranty. You will find all the details of this program in the owner's manual and warranty statement.
Engine manufacturers have made changes to the way they rate and market the horsepower of engines. For years engine manufactures rated engines by gross horsepower. However, depending on the method that would be used, engine performance varied and horsepower ratings were inconsistent. As a result of a class action lawsuit against the engine manufacturers, a uniform horsepower rating method was adopted industry wide. The approved methods of rating horsepower, as appointed by the court, will be "C.C. Displacement." In order to get an estimated horsepower rating you can simply take the C.C. and divide it by 30.
